Rai may be knee deep in new film offers these days but that hasn't kept
her from fulfilling her duties as a brand ambassador for L'Oreal Paris
India. The actress known as 'the most beautiful woman in the world' has a
brand new ad out this weekend and the spread began making headlines
on Nov. 14. Fans swarmed the L'Oreal Paris Facebook page hosting the
ad--more than 1,600 users have 'liked' the post since it went up, a
number which dwarfs the page's other advertisements.
Aishwarya's new ad is for L'Oreal's Infallible line of lipsticks, and in the photo she is shown sporting a very clean, minimal look with a bright red lip. The copy reads "For the multifaceted woman who stays bold and beautiful all day long."
Some online commenters have drawn attention to a negative aspect of the ad, which is the degree to which Aishwarya's skin has been lightened by L'Oreal's designers. Aishwarya is naturally fair-skinned, but in the ad her face has been practically whitened. It's not the first time this has happened to her and it's a shame that her natural tone wasn't allowed to show through. The Photoshopped whitening gives a cold effect to the ad (though it may have been done to better offset the lipstick color).
When she's not busy shooting for her commercial obligations Aishwarya is focusing on her comeback. She's due to start shooting for "Jazbaa" in December with an aim to debut the film at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. She's also reportedly choosing between four new scripts, including a romantic film with husband Abhishek Bachchan, a Karan Johar film opposite Aamir Khan, and two different cop films. If these casting rumors are true then it sounds like her fans are going to be seeing a while lot more of Aishwarya Rai!
