Aishwarya Rai on Monday arrived in Kolkata with hubby Abhishek Bachchan to attend the inauguration of Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF).
The 20th edition of KIFF, which is India’s second oldest film festival after IFFI, kicks off on Monday evening. The Bachchan family will be present at the opening in full force.
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee personally invited the Bachchans for the festival and insisted that the entire family should attend the inauguration.
While Amitabh Bachchan has already been busy shooting for his film Piku in Kolkata, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan flew in Monday morning.
Abhishek tweeted, “Kolkata kemon achen? #KIFF” and posted a photo of dear wifey.
At the KIFF, one may even see the Bachchans bonding with Shah Rukh Khan. There’s been a lot of talk of a rift between SRK and the Bachchans over Jaya Bachchan’s alleged comment about Happy New Year being a nonsensical film.
The opening ceremony will also be attended by Jaya Bachchan, Irrfan Khan, Deepika Padukone and director Shoojit Sircar.
