Aishwarya celebrates her dad’s birthday in style

November is a busy month for the former Miss World, model turned actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She had been busy during the first part of the month planning the birthday bash for her little princess Aaradhya. No efforts were spared to make the third birthday of the most celebrated kid of Bollywood highly special. Now, it is time to celebrate the birthday of her dad Krishnaraj Rai.
Aishwarya celebrated the birthday of her father in style. This was the 76th birthday of Mr. Rai. Coincidentally, this is also the day when Aishwarya won the title of Miss World twenty years ago. To mark this joyful day, Aishwarya announced one hundred surgeries for children in a city hospital in Mumbai. The surgeries will be gifted to one hundred children suffering from the problems of cleft lip and palate.
The Aishwarya Rai foundation will bear the cost of these operations. This charity is actually managed by father Krishnaraj Rai himself. The surgeries will be performed in cooperation with the Smile train. This is the largest charitable effort in the world regarding cleft lip and palate. Aishwarya is the goodwill ambassador of Smile Train. She visited the Godrej Memorial hospital in Mumbai to make this announcement. This charitable move is a beautiful celebration of three memorable events in the life of the actress. These are her father’s birthday, the day of her crowning as the Miss World as well as her daughter’s third birthday which was celebrated just a few days ago.
The spokesperson of Aishwarya was quoted saying, "Aishwarya has pledged her support by sponsoring surgeries of 100 children with cleft to mark the 20th anniversary of her winning the Miss World pageant and it's also the eve of her father's 76th birthday."

Vipul Shah clarifies: Aishwarya Rai NOT starring in his next

Contrary to reports about producer-director Vipul Shah and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan coming together for a film, the filmmaker clarifies that it’s not true though admitting that he’d always like working with Aishwarya. He last directed her in Action Replay alongside his other favourite, Akshay Kumar.
Last month, Ash was spotted at Vipul Shah’s residence with mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan in tow, sparking rumours that the Bachchan Bahu might be starring in Shah’s next project. When BC spoke to Shah, he said, “I think that was blown out of proportion. Ash and Jayaji had come home for a family function. It was speculated as if we are doing a film together.”
Commenting on his camaraderie with Ash, Shah said, “It would be a privilege to work with Ash at any given point. We worked together on Action Replay.” He added, “This year some announcements will happen and I’ll be directing one of those. Work on my next as a director has already started.”

Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai attended a family function with daughter Aaradhya in hometown Mangalore.

The actress visited the city to apparently attend the baby shower ceremony of her cousin. Aishwarya Rai’s mom Vrinda Rai and dad Krishnaraj Rai accompanied her. In the photo above, she is seen posing with them and a few relatives.

It was reportedly a short visit and after the function the mother-daughter duo of Aishwarya Rai and Aaradhya Bachchan headed home.

Aishwarya Rai may be knee deep in new film offers these days but that hasn't kept her from fulfilling her duties as a brand ambassador for L'Oreal Paris India. The actress known as 'the most beautiful woman in the world' has a brand new ad out this weekend and the spread began making headlines on Nov. 14. Fans swarmed the L'Oreal Paris Facebook page hosting the ad--more than 1,600 users have 'liked' the post since it went up, a number which dwarfs the page's other advertisements.
Aishwarya's new ad is for L'Oreal's Infallible line of lipsticks, and in the photo she is shown sporting a very clean, minimal look with a bright red lip. The copy reads "For the multifaceted woman who stays bold and beautiful all day long."
Some online commenters have drawn attention to a negative aspect of the ad, which is the degree to which Aishwarya's skin has been lightened by L'Oreal's designers. Aishwarya is naturally fair-skinned, but in the ad her face has been practically whitened. It's not the first time this has happened to her and it's a shame that her natural tone wasn't allowed to show through. The Photoshopped whitening gives a cold effect to the ad (though it may have been done to better offset the lipstick color).
When she's not busy shooting for her commercial obligations Aishwarya is focusing on her comeback. She's due to start shooting for "Jazbaa" in December with an aim to debut the film at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. She's also reportedly choosing between four new scripts, including a romantic film with husband Abhishek Bachchan, a Karan Johar film opposite Aamir Khan, and two different cop films. Aishwarya is going to invite some kids as well as family friends.
"When she turned one, I thought of celebrating her birthday with close family members. Her first birthday was very intimate. We celebrated only with family and grandparents, so that she recognises her relationship," Aishwarya said in a press conference.
"Last year, it was her second birthday party and it was huge. I had invited everybody we know and all their kids for her second birthday. I even joked that it was like a first wedding. This year, I am planning to keep it a mix of both. It's definitely going to be intimate and a lot of fun. I am certainly planning her birthday on daily basis," she added.
Aaradhya, granddaughter of Bollywood's superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, was born on 16 November, 2011. She has been one of the famous star kids of B-town and has managed to stay in the limelight ever since she was born.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to share screen with Aamir Khan in Karan Johar’s next

After gearing up to work with Sanjay Gupta for Jazbaa, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has given her consent for Karan Johar's movie.
 This film will also star Aamir Khan. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the only member of the Bachchan family who is yet to work with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, is set to change.
According to reports, the Bachchan bahu, who is ready to make a comeback, has said yes to a role offered by Karan.
Karan Johar who has already signed three films with three Bollywood biggies - Akshay Kumar for Brothers, Salman Khan for Shuddhi and Aamir Khan for an untitled project has approached Aishwarya to star opposite Mr Perfectionist in his production.
Aishwarya was previously approached to play Priyanka Chopra's role in Dostana but she had walked out of the project saying that people won't like her walking away with Bobby Deol when Abhishek Bachchan was there in the film.
The source reveals that Karan has now offered her a role in a film that he plans to make with Aamir Khan in the lead. “Aamir and Aishwarya have never been together except for one scene in Dharmesh Darshan’s Mela.

Was Aishwarya Rai forced out of 'Shuddhi' by Salman Khan?

Aishwarya Rai is certainly on a roll these days. Not only is she set to make her long-awaited comeback in Sanjay Gupta's "Jazbaa," but now it's being rumored that she's signed on to star opposite Aamir Khan in Karan Johar's next film. However according to a Nov. 11 article her film future might have been very different if it weren't for her rocky history with Salman Khan.
A source who has some connection to Karan Johar has indicated that the director wanted Aishwarya for a very different role. He had hoped to cast her as the female lead in "Shuddhi," which was originally set to star Hrithik Roshan. Johar has been having a hard time getting "Shuddhi" made and has gone through multiple castings and re-castings. First he signed Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor. When Hrithik pulled out of the film Kareena went with him, saying that she signed the film in order to work with Hrithik and with him no longer attached to the project there was no reason for her to stay.
Johar then signed Salman Khan to take over where Hrithik had left off. However with Salman in the film Karan's choice for the female lead, Aishwarya, wasn't possible. As the source says, it's "out of the question."
Salman and Aishwarya are former lovers who had a very nasty public split. Aishwarya claimed that Salman was physically and emotionally abusive, and she was spotted sporting bruises on one occasion. Salman made life difficult for her by constantly showing up on her film sets, which resulted in her being forced out of "Chalte Chalte" and falling out of favor with her co-star in the film, Shahrukh Khan. Aishwarya and Salman broke up, after which she dated Vivek Oberoi before finally marrying Abhishek Bachchan. She has refused to work with Salman ever since.
So it sounds like Salman Khan is still wreaking a bit of havoc on Aishwarya's professional life. Now Deepika Padukone is rumored to be taking over the role in "Shuddhi," and fans of Aishwarya Rai will just have to wonder what the film might have been like with her in it.

Aishwarya Rai arrives in city of joy for Kolkata International Film Festival

Aishwarya Rai on Monday arrived in Kolkata with hubby Abhishek Bachchan to attend the inauguration of Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF).

The 20th edition of KIFF, which is India’s second oldest film festival after IFFI, kicks off on Monday evening. The Bachchan family will be present at the opening in full force.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee personally invited the Bachchans for the festival and insisted that the entire family should attend the inauguration.

While Amitabh Bachchan has already been busy shooting for his film Piku in Kolkata, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan flew in Monday morning.

Abhishek tweeted, “Kolkata kemon achen? #KIFF” and posted a photo of dear wifey.

At the KIFF, one may even see the Bachchans bonding with Shah Rukh Khan. There’s been a lot of talk of a rift between SRK and the Bachchans over Jaya Bachchan’s alleged comment about Happy New Year being a nonsensical film.

The opening ceremony will also be attended by Jaya Bachchan, Irrfan Khan, Deepika Padukone and director Shoojit Sircar.

It is slated that the junior Kapoor will play the role of Shabana Azmi’s son in the movie but however nothing is confirmed yet. The action thriller has some power packed talented actors on board like Irfan Khan, Shabana Azmi, John Abraham. The film will go on floors next January.
Shraddha Kapoor was a proud sister and she shared her excitement on twitter.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan inaugurates Kalyan Jewellery store at Jehangir Art gallery

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan inaugurated the 65th Kalyan Jewellers store in total and the 4th one in Mumbai on Saturday. A huge crowd of on-lookers were at Jehangir Art gallery to get a glimpse of the actress.
"It's so heartening to see all of you gathered here and I am very happy to be inaugurating this new branch of Kalyan Jewellers and so proud to be part of the goodwill that the group spreads," said the Bachchan bahu to the crowd.
Kalyan Jewellers recently received an investment of Rs1,200 crores, following which they will be opening 28 stores. They plan to open 16 stores by December and another 12 stores by March 2015.
Ramesh Kalyanraman, executive director of marketing and operations and son of chairman and managing director, T S Kalyanraman, said, "This is the first time that a jewellery distributor and manufacturer has received private equity. This is because of the brand Kalyan, because of the trust that our customers and our investors have in us that we have always tried to live up to."
TS Kalyanraman, said, "Our new store has been launched in keeping with the positive response received from our customers in Mumbai for pure gold. The softening of gold prices is further expected to boost demand. We believe that we have set in motion a path to rapid growth through these store expansions, as we target to achieve revenues of Rs25,000 crores."

After SRK-Deepika, Rohit Shetty's Next to Feature Shah Rukh-Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Ever since Rohit Shetty and Shah Rukh Khan has announced their teaming up for another project after the success of their blockbuster "Chennai Express", speculations regarding the lead actress has been doing the rounds.

 

Previously Kajol was rumoured to have been approached for the lead role opposite SRK but later reports suggested that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been in talks with the makers for the lead actress role. However, no confirmation has been made yet.
But it appears that the former Miss World has given her nod to the film as it was evident during a recent event when the actress was asked if she is into Shetty's film.
According to a report in Bollywood Life, the blue-eyed actress without denying it said: "It will be prudent for me to make any announcements without the team," thereby hinting that the actress has already teamed up with SRK.
It should be mentioned that during a recent press conference on the occasion of her birthday, Aishwarya had revealed that she has signed a few other projects apart from her comeback film "Jazbaa".
Going by her hint, it looks like both Aishwarya and Khan are ready to reunite after 12 years in Shetty's film. They last worked together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus, "Devdas".
There were also reports that the filmmaker was keen to bring the hit couple – SRK and Aishwarya together as they have always been loved by the audience on-screen.
Meanwhile, the beauty queen will soon start shooting for her comeback film, "Jazbaa", directed by Sanjay Gupta. The film also has Irrfan Khan and Shabana Azmi in important roles.
On the other hand, Khan is riding high with the stupendous success of his recently released film, "Happy New Year", also starring Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah.

Aishwarya Rai roots for Abhishek Bachchan’s Chennaiyin FC at ISL

Aishwarya Rai joined her husband Abhishek Bachchan aka Jhakaas Nandu Bhide to root for his football team Chennaiyin FC in the ISL match against Atletico De Kolkata on November 4.

Abhishek Bachchan calls wifey Aishwarya Rai his lucky charm. After all, it’s very true that his Kabaddi team Jaipur Pink Panther’s won the inaugural Kabaddi league tournament earlier this year, and Ash was vigorously rooting in the final match.

Now, Aishwarya accompanied Abhishek to the match between Chennaiyin FC and Atletico De Kolkata at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday. Abhishek is the co-owner of Chennai team along with Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

It was an interesting match that saw two penalty strikes and two red cards. Kolkata scored first with a penalty. But a stoppage time penalty strike from midfielder Elano Blumer helped hosts Chennaiyin FC hold Atletico de Kolkata to a 1-1 draw. Now, Kolkata is at the top of the points table followed by Chennai.

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan also took a lap of the stadium to greet the fans. Ash presented the Hero of the Match Award to Luis Garcia.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to appear in Vipul Shah's next?

Rumors have started making round that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is going to feature in the next film of Vipul Amrutlal Shah after she was spotted at his home with mother-in-law Jaya.
The winner of 1993 Miss World pageant recently said in an event that she has few other projects under her consideration.
Vipul Shah who directed Aishwarya in ’Action Replay’ was delighted by her visit. He reportedly said that he is interested in working with Aishwarya again and he would like to do a film with Jaya as well.
The last film of Aishwarya and Vipul ‘Action Replay’ failed to do any magic at box office but the filmmaker would be willing to change his fortune with his next.
Former beauty queen Aishwarya Rai was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’ released in 2010 and after that she took a break from acting following her pregnancy.
Before her pregnancy came into light, the blue-eyed actress was shooting for Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’ which she left and was taken over by Kareena Kapoor Khan. It was not a bad decision as the film did not do well at the box office.
She is now set to appear in Sanjay Gupta’s dream project ‘Jazabaa’ that  stars Shabana Azmi and Irrfan Khan as well. The shooting for the film is expected to start in January next year. Slated to release in 2015, ‘Jazbaa’ will be Aishwarya’s first film in 5 years.
Aishwarya frequently called Aish recently celebrated her birthday on November 1. Shah Rukh who celebrates his birthday on November2 cut his cake with Aishwarya. The party organized by Gauri Khan was attended by 100 odd guests.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to feature in Vipul Shah's next?

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was recently spotted visiting the home of director Vipul Shah with mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan, sparking rumours that the former Miss World might be starring in Shah's next project.
Aishwarya's next film after her comeback movie Jazbaa, set to be released in 2015, is creating much buzz in Bollywood. In the past, Aishwarya stated that she has signed on for more films other than Jazbaa, but has remained tight lipped about the name of the fims or who she's working with.
It has been reported that Shah​ was delighted to see the two stars paying him a visit at his home and said while it is great working with Aishwarya, he would like to do a project with Jaya as well.
Aishwarya last worked with Shah in Action Replayy (2010) co-starring alongside Akshay Kumar. Though Action Replayy couldn't win over the box office, we hope the duo replays the trick to give a blockbuster.
