Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Reveals Why She Chose 'Jazbaa' as Her Comeback Film

The female-centric film will see Aishwarya playing the role of a lawyer and perform some high octane never-seen-before action sequences.
While many of her fans wondered why the former Miss World chose an action flick for her comeback over many glamorous offers, the actress in a recent interview with The Times of India revealed the reasons of making a comeback with "Jazbaa".
Aishwarya said that the subject of the film pleased her and she was happy to spead the message through the film. Moreover, she has always enjoyed the director's work.
"It was an immediate yes because the subject has that kind of immense voice which I was very happy to spread and be a part of this team," said Aishwarya.
The film also features Irrfan Khan and Shabana Azmi in significant roles. There were also reports that the "Guzaarish" actress will sport a completely different look in the film.

The beauty queen was all praises for her director. "Gupta is a wonderful visionary for this subject on celluloid. And I think the combination is great. I have always enjoyed his work. The subject of this genre and the director...when these two come together, it has an exciting newness to it," she added.
"The team that has come together was on our wish-list. We had all discussed and I am glad that everybody like-minded has happily come on board because that is exactly what we together had visualized as actors coming on board...even the technical team, the professionals, who will continue to work till the very last minute. The journey has just begun (sic)," the Bachchan bahu concluded.
Soon after wrapping "Jazbaa", Aishwarya will start shooting for Karan Johar's "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" in May this year. The film has Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in lead roles.

 3-year-old daughter of actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is getting a new gift from the sets of “Jazbaa”. Aaradhya Bachchan gets a new vanity van, while mommy Aishwarya shoots for the film!
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is returning after the five-year break she took due to her pregnancy, and she cannot stay without her daughter one moment! Daughter Aaradhya is to accompany her during the shoot of her film “Jazbaa” produced by Sanjay Gupta.
Accompanying Aaradhya will be Sanjay Gupta’s kids, four-year old son, Shivaansh and two-year old daughter, Dalai. The producer of the film says he understands the importance of spending time with your kids and thus has arranged for a kids special vanity van. “I am a father myself and under stand Aishwarya‘s responsibilities as a mother. I want the vanity van for my kids and hers”, stated Sanjay Gupta.

The vanity van will have everything that can keep a kid happy whilst their mother’s absence. Play zone with lots of toys, plenty of books to read, all sorts of refreshments, and her own space to snooze out when she’s tired from all the playing and learning. Sanjay Gupta informed, “It will have all that you mentioned and more. And it will be really spacious with no furniture with edges or any sharp objects.”
“Jazbaa” is going to be a women-centric film where Aishwarya’s role will be that of a lawyer. Sanjay Gupta revealed that the shoot will begin soon and the schedule will be in a way to give the actors enough family time.
“We will shoot from Monday to Friday. It is a Hollywood-style schedule with the cast shooting five days a week and the production team working through the weekends and holidays. That way the actors’ family life won’t be affected,” says Gupta.

Aishwarya Rai Will Have No Stake in Jazbaa. She’s Just Happy Acting In It

Producer-actor Sachiin Joshi is denying rumours that Aishwarya Rai had asked for a
stake as a producer to act in Jazbaa – her much-vaunted comeback. Joshi has taken over as the producer of the film which is being directed by Sanjay Gupta.
“I am not aware of any such thing and to my knowledge she has not asked for any such profits from the film. She is working on the film and is quite excited to shoot. We have a few days to go before she starts shooting and it should be a good film,” says Joshi.
One can recall that there were rumours that Aishwarya Rai was slated to have a profit sharing in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine. But her pregnancy led to her leaving the film midway. Since this is the next film that she had signed on after Heroine, the rumours had surfaced, but Joshi put all rumours to rest.
Sachiin Joshi also refutes rumours that he is starring in the film opposite Aishwarya Rai. “I am just the producer of the film. I am producing it because I really enjoyed the script and it will be a
great thriller, the way Sanjay Gupta has envisaged it and it will be an amazing action film,” he explains.
Aishwarya Rai was last seen in Guzaarish. “I, like a lot of people want to see her back on screen and who better than Sanjay to direct her in her comeback?” says the actor-producer of films like Jackpot, Azaan and Mumbai Mirror.

When Bollywood came to Scotland

Visit Scotland is launching a campaign to encourage Bollywood film fans to come to Scotland.

Over the past two decades there have been 23 Indian films that have used Scottish locations.
A new map showing the films and their locations will be made available to the Indian travel trade to give to the estimated 34,000 visitors who are expected to come to Scotland over the next year.
The Bollywood industry, based in the Indian city of Mumbai, is famous for its lavish productions and extravagant song and dance routines.
The first Bollywood films to shoot in Scotland were screen legend Dev Anand's Main Solah Baras Ki (Sweet Sixteen) and Karan Johar's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (Something Happens in My Heart) in 1998.
They featured Scottish landmarks including Edinburgh's Royal Mile, Eilean Donan Castle in the Highlands and Crossraguel Abbey in Ayrshire.

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are currently up to their elbows in work. Ash is busy shooting for Sanjay Gupta’s Jazbaa while Abhishek is busy with Hera Pheri 3 and All is Well. We hear that the actor couple have taken time off work to be with their daddy dearest, Amitabh Bachchan, at the music launch of Shamitabh which is to be held this evening.
Abhishek will specially fly down from Chennai for the music launch and after that he will head straight to the shoot of All is Well, his film opposite Asin. The entire Bachchan parivaar will gather together to celebrate the music of Ilaiyaraja.
Sr Bachchan specially recorded an audio invitation for the media persons to attend the music launch and also spoke highly of Ilaiyaraja’s talent. His film Shamitabh is co-produced by his son Abhishek who also does a cameo in the film.

"Actually someone has tagged me in a video that had one of Priya's Tamil films and a short film. I watched it and thought she looked superb. Then, I asked my casting director to find the girl. Later, when we find out that she hasn't signed any other Hindi film, we auditioned, and she was impressive there. She is a fine actor and plays an important role in the film", says Gupta. The star cast of the film is just getting very interesting with new actors and veterans like Anupam Kher and Shabana Azmi. Speaking to media persons on the occasion, Aishwarya, who will be seen on the silver screen after a gap of five years post-pregnancy, said, "We are here, the team of Jazbaa having our initial readings together as a team, and I am very excited to work with Sanjay."
Talking about the film, director Sanjay Gupta said it would be a very entertaining and thrilling film. "I think you can expect a very entertaining and thrilling film. It's a thriller and not really in the mold of formula films that we have been seen of late. In any case I have never made such films and as far as Aishwarya is concerned and I am concerned yes it is after a while but end of the day it's just another day at work, so just getting back to work," he added.

Ban on bikini: Here's why Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is happy

In December 2014, Julia Morley, chairwoman of the Miss World contest, announced their decision about the exclusion of the bikini round, saying that "it doesn't do anything for the woman. And it doesn't do anything for any of us".
Indian actress and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan echoes Ms Morley's statement.
The former beauty queen has lauded the organisers of the international beauty pageant for removing the swimsuit round from their competition.
She says when she won the crown in 1994, she herself didn't have the "fittest beach body".
Without mincing her words, the former beauty queen expressed her happiness at this decision.
Discussing the exclusion Aishwarya said that when she became Miss World she definitely did not have the best beach body of all the 87 contestants.
So with utmost confidence the actress said that the bikini round is not an imperative round and not the deciding factor to choose a winner.
Soon after winning the title in 1994, Ash expressed to the organisers how it was not naturally comfortable for some contestants belonging to different nationality to wear a bikini on ramp.
For the next three years the pageant honchos did away with the swimwear round and instead brought in a beach wear fashion show where contestants could showcase their beachwear.
During the Miss World 2014 contest, Aishwarya Rai was felicitated for being the most successful Miss World ever.
The actress is making her comeback to the big screen after almost five years with Sanjay Gupta's 'Jazbaa'.

Director Sanjay Gupta, who is all set to begin filming his upcoming directorial venture 'Jazbaa', has met the star cast for the scrip reading session.
'Jazbaa' marks the comeback project of Aishwarya Rai in Bollywood after a gap of five years post pregnancy. The film also stars Shabana Azmi, Irrfan and Anupam Kapoor besides the actress.
"And the journey begins... Left home for first script reading of Jazbaa. God Bless my cast and crew," Gupta posted on Twitter.
The first shooting schedule of the film has got postponed due to Irrfan's minor surgery.

'Jazbaa' is said to be the remake of the South Korean film 'Seven Days'.Kher posted a picture of the crew on his Twitter.

"Farah's birthday had the vibe of the terrace parties of the '80s and '90s. The food was Indian and when the music stopped, the guests kept up the chatter," a guest told Mumbai Mirror.
Dancing diva Madhuri Dixit Nene with her husband Sriram Nene, Lara Dutta, Kangana Ranaut and Sonam Kapoor also got on the dance floor, along with the Ranveer-Deepika and Aishwarya-Abhishek.

However, Shah Rukh later clarified on Twitter that he was busy with work due to which he was not able to be with his friends Farah and Farhan on their birthday.

Abhishek Bachchan can’t wait to see his wife Aishwarya Rai on the big screen in ‘Jazbaa’.

Actor Abhishek Bachchan is excited that his wife Aishwarya Rai is making her comeback on the silver screen with Sanjay Gupta's "Jazbaa".

Aishwarya was last seen on the big screen in the 2010 film “Guzaarish”. In November 2011, she was blessed with Aaradhya, her daughter with Abhishek, and since then, Aishwarya has stayed away from facing the cameras.

Now her husband is upbeat about her career comeback.

"I'm very excited to see Aishwarya in 'Jazbaa'. It should be a lot of fun. It's a great script. I love Sanjay Gupta as a director and I think they'll make a fantastic team... it's always wonderful to see her on screen,” Abhishek said at an event in Mumbai Tuesday.

"Jazbaa" is an action thriller and it also stars Irrfan Khan and Shabana Azmi in key roles.

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is the brand ambassador of L'Oreal Paris, Wednesday launched the beauty brand's "Collection Star Pure Reds Lipsticks".

The signature collection of seven matte shades were chosen by seven L'Oreal Paris ambassadors, including Aishwarya Rai, Sonam Kapoor, Freida Pinto and Blake Lively.

"For me personally, red lips exude power and elan. Congratulations to L'Oreal Paris for introducing a range of red lipsticks that are at once urbane, classy and radiate confidence as it flatters every skin tone and adds a beautiful dimension to the lips," Aishwarya Rai said.

"Every woman should find her perfect red lipstick for the added touch of glamour and flair to her overall look. I say this - because you're worth it!" she said.

Talking about the shade red, she said it was a growing trend these days.

"I don't think people are scared... they are just furious with the response of the colour. The trend has been growing and red has already hit out and it is only growing popular. I am confident how well red is accepted as a colour," she said.

When Aishwarya was present at the launch of a beauty product here the same day, she was asked about her feedback on the trailer. "It's incredible," Aishwarya exclaimed, and added, "The idea is fascinating and I know more than that is revealed in the trailer. I'm very very excited to see this product, to see this film ('Shamitabh'). I think when Balki (R. Balki) and Pa (Amitabh Bachchan) come together, it's great to see them." R. Balki and Big B had earlier collaborated for films like Cheeni Kum and Paa. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has made her second appearance at the 67th Cannes Film Festival.

The 40- year-old was attending the premiere of The Search.

Rai Bachchan looked demure in a silver-cream fishtailed Roberto Cavalli dress, with elaborate embroidery and a delicate fringe design, and wore her hair in old Hollywood-style waves.

Yesterday the actress made an impact as she attended the red carpet premiere of Deux Jours, Une Nuit in a gold, strapless Roberto Cavalli fishtailed dress.

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan have attended the amfAR Gala.

An annual highlight of the Cannes Film Festival, this year's event was hosted by the Indian power couple.

Presenting the charity auction, Abhishek said: "Every time we sell an auction lot, we get a few steps closer to reaching our goal."

Aishwarya, who has been winning praise from all quarters for her star turns on the red carpet, opted for a shimmering fawn coloured Armani Prive gown for the glamourous night, while Abhishek wore a traditional Nehru suit.
