Producer-actor Sachiin Joshi is denying rumours that Aishwarya Rai had asked for a
stake as a producer to act in Jazbaa – her much-vaunted comeback. Joshi has taken over as the producer of the film which is being directed by Sanjay Gupta.
“I am not aware of any such thing and to my knowledge she has not asked for any such profits from the film. She is working on the film and is quite excited to shoot. We have a few days to go before she starts shooting and it should be a good film,” says Joshi.
One can recall that there were rumours that Aishwarya Rai was slated to have a profit sharing in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine. But her pregnancy led to her leaving the film midway. Since this is the next film that she had signed on after Heroine, the rumours had surfaced, but Joshi put all rumours to rest.
Sachiin Joshi also refutes rumours that he is starring in the film opposite Aishwarya Rai. “I am just the producer of the film. I am producing it because I really enjoyed the script and it will be a
great thriller, the way Sanjay Gupta has envisaged it and it will be an amazing action film,” he explains.
Aishwarya Rai was last seen in Guzaarish. “I, like a lot of people want to see her back on screen and who better than Sanjay to direct her in her comeback?” says the actor-producer of films like Jackpot, Azaan and Mumbai Mirror.
